Diana binger
Since joining the congregation in 2013, Diana has led Rosh Hodesh groups with our teens and young adults, led Gan Shabbat, and served as Membership co-chair, Lifelong Learning Chair and Nursery School chair on the Board of Directors and led the search committee that recommended hiring Rabbi Sacks. Currently she serves on the Board of Directors as VP Ritual, reads Torah and ushers during Shabbat services, is on the High Holiday Committee and leads Kulanu Family Programs. Diana lives in South Salem with her husband Scott and their children Izzy and Owen. She works as a school social worker at Fox Lane High School and has been a part of the Bet Torah community since 2009, when Izzy first started at the nursery school.
mindy Citera
Morah Mindy has been the director of Bet Torah Nursery School since 2001. She previously taught in our Religious School and led Junior Congregation and High Holiday programs from 1996 - 2009. She holds a master’s degree in Elementary Education and a bachelor’s degree in English. Mindy is the author of Around New York City with Kids and has also written for numerous magazines and newspapers on parenting, education, and children’s health. She began teaching at her childhood synagogue and went on to work in youth groups, religious schools, day schools, camps, and preschools. Mindy and her husband Gerry are the proud parents of Michael, Jenn, and Rachel and the lucky grandparents of Ava and Sophie.
janice gordon
Janice joined Bet Torah in 1968 with her husband Conrad (Ken) and raised their children, Michael, Christopher, Carol (Siege) and Evan, at Bet Torah. Janice and Ken immediately immersed themselves in life at Bet Torah, becoming and remaining active in every aspect of synagogue life. Among her many roles, Janice served as Sisterhood President from 1973-75 and Board President from 1979-81, becoming the first female synagogue president in Northern Westchester and leading Bet Torah to become an egalitarian organization. Janice and Ken together formed the Christopher B. Gordon Memorial Fund after their son’s untimely passing; the Fund continues to help defray the costs of USY and similar youth trips, primarily to Israel.
joanna segal
When Joanna and Rich Segal were looking for a conservative shul 23 years ago, Bet Torah was the perfect fit. Joanna joined the Board of Directors in 2008. She has served as the nursery school Budget Chair and Bet Torah’s Budget Chair, Treasurer, and Membership Chair. Currently, Joanna is the Annual Fund Chair, Sisterhood Shabbat Chair, Bet Torah Foundation Treasurer, and a Finance Committee member. She sat on Rabbi Brusso’s and Gina Fass’ search committees, is a shmira volunteer and a Torah reader, and is active with the Emergency Shelter Partnership and Midnight Run. It gives Joanna and Rich great nachas as their daughters Leora, Annie, and Dahlia volunteer at Bet Torah and in the community.
