What is Sisterhood?
Bet Torah Sisterhood is the vibrant organization that connects the women of Bet Torah through social, spiritual, philanthropic and educational programs.
Bet Torah Sisterhood programs benefit our synagogue, the local community, and are committed to supporting organizations in Israel.

Sisterhood is Paint Night, Wine and Cheese Pairing, Mom’s Night Out, Sisterhood Shabbat and Torah Fund, Shiva Meals, supporting the Caring Committee, College Connection, Shalach Manot, Interfaith Food Pantry, Project ReSet, Opportunity Shop.
Sisterhood is promoting Jewish and Israeli Artisans in our Judaica Shop, supporting Israel, Mitzvah Needles, Women’s Torah Study Group.

For our congregation:
Bet Torah Sisterhood Members...
- Underwrite a weekly Women's Torah Study Group (Currently virtual)
- Operate a Sisterhood Judaica/Gift Shop (Ongoing)
- Weekly Zoom and Knit and Crochet with Mitzvah Needles
- Plan and organize events, e.g. lectures, dinners, educational programs and more! (Virtual and in person)
- Send holiday packages to our College-age congregants
- Provide meals and other assistance through Helping Hands (sisterhoodpresident@bettorah.org)
- Assemble and distribute Shalach Manot packages
- Organize all aspects of an Annual Sisterhood Shabbat service
- Present gifts to each Bar and Bat Mitzvah child
- Offer Shabbat dinners to bereaved families
- Provide flowers for the Bima on holidays
- Donate annual contributions to Bet Torah’s operating expenses, Hebrew School, Shabbat A-La-Mode dinners, Purimspiel, and USY offsetting Kinnus costs
For ourselves:

- Create and develop exciting programs including book reviews, guest speakers and educational studies
- Publish a yearly membership directory
- Host a quarterly Sisterhood Book Club
- Create an opportunity for women to connect with Bet Torah on a more intimate level
- Enjoy the camaraderie of other women members
- Serve the synagogue and the community

- Support the Mt. Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry
- Partnership with the Mt. Kisco Opportunity Shop

- Support Women's League for Conservative Judaism
- Support Torah Fund, the dedicated philanthropy of the Women's League for Conservative Judaism.
- Collect necessary items for rescue operations and emergencies
- Raise funds for various Israeli organizations
