Giving to Bet Torah

Bet Torah is a generous community, honoring the tradition of tzedakah in all that it does. According to the sages, tzedakah is equal in value to all the other mitzvot. If you wish to donate financially, here are our 3 great opportunities.

Bet Torah's Annual Fund

Each year, we ask those who are able to consider supporting our Bet Torah community by contributing financially above your basic membership level. The Annual Fund reflects funds raised from the High Holy Day Appeal, the Gala and ongoing annual contributions. Your support makes it possible for us to welcome families experiencing financial hardship, educate the next generations in our Kulanu Learning Program, and support salaries and benefits for our amazing Clergy and staff who help us engage in Jewish community, prayer, learning, and tikkun olam.

The Annual Fund represents more than 10% of Bet Torah’s annual operating budget. Your gift directly translates into our ability to sustain our vibrant community.

Named/Restricted Funds

Gifts to named funds provide additional support for specific mission driven initiatives, such as supporting innovative programming for the Kulanu Learning Program and supporting our community members with Shabbat meals.

Many choose to contribute to these funds so that they can honor a relative, a fellow congregant who has lost a loved one, a member of our clergy or a child's teacher who has performed a meaningful service.

Bet Torah Foundation

The Bet Torah Foundation was created in 2022 as a strategic investment initiative to secure long term financial security for Bet Torah while also continuing to address today’s needs and goals. Bet Torah is the sole beneficiary of the Foundation.

The Foundation professionally stewards and grows Bet Torah’s funds to build a legacy of financial strength for our community. It is designed for more long-term support and sustainability and provides an opportunity for members to make larger donations or legacy gifts.

For more than 70 years, Bet Torah has been a warm and welcoming Jewish home for families in Northern Westchester. Our strength to date is due in part to strong leadership and being able to plan for and react to changes in the community and our lives. The Bet Torah Foundation, working in conjunction with the Annual Fund, will help to better our position for current needs as well as those for future generations.
